Carolyn Conlee Robertson
I keep finding photographs of her at still younger ages. Here she is about 3. She is hugging her cousin Bob. They are sitting on the front porch of their grandparents home in Mississippi in 1945. Her dad was on furlough. Click here for a slide show of her future mate.

She was skinny as a rail while growing up but did develop early. Oh la la the "develop".
Here she is in front of a store in Bay City, Texas. She is about 6. Her parents let her walk around that town even before she started school. Imagine parents doing that in 2002.

Her family moved a lot when she was young. In this 1952 photo they were living in Hankamer. We have visited there recently and think we have found the apartment they lived in there.

The next picture was her 8th grade class at Markham Elementary School.

Mr. King was the teacher. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor.
The picture was made in the gym where I first saw her running across the gym. I told my two friends at that time that she was the girl I was going to marry. I was in 7th grade so she must has been in 6th grade or 12 years old. She was stunningly developed.
What do you think? Was I right?

I was smitten at first sight and that did not include this picture. I did not see this picture until 2002 while writing these memories.

Christmas at Bev's 1/8/2000

Without photos it would be impossible to remember we were just as 'brain-damaged' as our grandkids. I can't believe I ever drew that well.
