I darn near got a chunk taken out of my arm by a resident. We had old gentleman who was blind & almost deaf. He would sit in his wheel chair & bend over & try to put is head in his lap or he would sit & put his head on his bed. We kept him sitting at the nurses station so we could keep him upright as much as possible. We had a NA who just loved to torment him???? One evening he was sitting at the Nurses station & Miss Smarty Pants had been teasing him again. He bent over as usual & I went to help straighten him back up. I guess he thought it was HER again & he had had enough!! He socked his teeth into my arm just like a irritated dog would! It broke the skin & I had a huge bruise on my arm for a long time. A few weeks later I found him dead in his wheel chair with his head on his bed. The idiot NA went on to be a nurse & is working to this day in one of the local hospitals. I understand she is not very popular. She was a ministers wife. |
