bunny
I worked most Easters when I was working at the hospital. It was not one of the paid holidays like it is now. I missed a lot of Easters with my daughters because I had to work. I hid eggs when I got home.

One Easter it was quiet on the floor and eveything went smooth all day.

I looked up from the desk that afternoon and saw an Easter bunny come hopping down the hall singing "Peter Cottontail" The bunny had a basket full of chocolate Easter eggs and was going from room to room passing out the candy to every patient. Their diet was not in consideration today. I could hear the laughter of the patients and the joy in their voices as they talked with The Easter Bunny.

As the bunny got closer to the desk, we were in for a surprise. It was our nurse's aid dressed up with long bunny ears and a pink nose. When she snuck off the floor to dress up and get the candy no one knows. She sure made the day for everyone that Easter. I don't know what ever became of her. She did that every year for a number of years.

So unselfish and giving was that young girl who was in her teens at the time of that first Easter.
