Old Telephone Numbers

Hah, sure did bring back memories. I remember the new telephones that came out. The tall ones with the big ear piece that seemed like it weighed 5 lbs. Back in those days, the kids in our family were not allowed to use the phone. I had never answered a telephone, and I remember my Mom was in bed, she had my brother, Mar. 26,1932. Her sister and bil were in NY and there was a blizzard and could not get home. My grandmother lived across the street from us. My Mom told me to answer the phone, I remember climbing up on a chair to reach the phone which was on a serving table in the dining room.I did not understand one thing they said, so of course no one got the message. I was suppose to tell my grandmother that they would not be home due to the storm. They were upset with me, and especially my grandmother. Wasn't my fault, bet the connections were not good back then. I was wasn't quite 5 years old yet. My dad had to have aphone cause he was on the police force. no one else on our block had one yet. I even remember our number, 3 digits, 716. Was many years later when they added WA7,Then finally to 927 and 4 numbers. BTW. I am so happy, my web has been really acting up. All day yesterday and today, it was jumping all over the place, I would start writing an e-mail and all of a sudden an e-mail card would come on from my favorites, or the pip tv would come on, then could not get the letterrs I typed. was so bad, I had to give up. Is working right now, but very slow. Guess it is time for a new one, this is my first one and never any real problems. Maybe it was the weather here, Hope everyone is well, and pray no one is having any real health problems.
