Halloween is the most unusual cat I have ever known. Her behavior is more canine than feline. She is even more aggressive than the average cat when it comes to having her own way. She rarely begs for people food and rarely eats any given to her. She doesn't like milk or cream, but she loves tacos. I give her bottled water right out of the refrigerator to drink, but she refuses it and drinks from the toilet.
Halloween once ate some pickles I had set aside for my hamburger. I never thought a cat would eat such a thing! Those pickles did not agree with her; she howled all night. I took her to the veterinarian and he gave her the equivalent of kittycat Pepto Bismol. She made me feel guilty for letting her get to the pickles, though, by continuing with the pitiful howling the whole night.
Halloween likes to play "fetch". She brings one of her toys to me, drops it at my feet, then meows at me unti I throw it. Then, she fetches it and brings it to me to throw again. She enjoys this game and I believe she could play it forever!
The most canine behavior Halloween exhibits is the way she "howls" at overhead lights when they are on. She gets directly below the light and assumes a stance akin to a coyote stance with her head raised toward the light. Then, she produces the oddest meow I have ever heard and it is obviously a cat's imitation of a wolf or coyote! I have never seen a cat do anything like that.
Halloween hates baths. I have to send her to a professional groomer to deal with it. Once when she was a kitten, I tried to bathe her. She set up such a horrible howl that my cat-loving neighbors who did not know me called the police out of fear a cat was being murdered. I had to explain to the police that I was only bathing a kitten. I have not attempted to bathe her myself since then. I don't want to go to jail!
