Now that you have published the page, you can grab the URL's of the images on that page. You must take it to an HTML Extractor. There are many on the web that can be used by WebTV, but I have found that the best and easiest to use is Cap~n~Fila's Source/Image/Sound Viewer. I have this helpful tool on F-key. It is easier to use if it is on F-key because you can avoid copying and pasting if you F-key this site.
So, first, let's F-key this tool by clicking onto the link above and saving it in a favorite folder. Then, go to that folder and click onto "organize" in the left sidebar. When the next screen comes up, select "Shortcuts" and click onto that. The next screen that comes up will be "Assign a shortcut to a favorite". Arrow down to the grey box beside the item you want to F-key: Cap~n~Fila's Source/Image/Sound Viewer Now, that you have F-keyed this tool, go to the page you built with those graphics. Simply hit the F-key and it will take you right to the tool. The URL should be already filled in the three options. (If it isn't, try reloading the page by holding down the cmd and the "r" key for a few seconds. It is loaded properly when there is text in the status bar.) The first option with the HTML extractor is "View Source". This will give you the HTML codes on the page. The third option is the "View Sounds". This will give you the URL's of the sound files on that particular page. The second option, "View Images" will give you the URL's of the images on the page. Click onto that. The next screen that will come up, will show you the images. The URL's will be above the images as clickable text . Sometimes, I have found that if you use this tool immediately after publishing a page, there will be blank boxes on this page. When you attempt to click onto the text link, it will deny you access. I don't know why this happens, and it doesn't always. I have found that logging off for a couple of minutes and logging back on will solve this problem. Now, you have the URL's. You can use them in Page builder or your e-mail signature to avoid remote linking to other people's URL's. Many servers are cracking down on this. Linking to another server's URL's on your homepages or e-mail is bandwidth theft and if you do this, you could cause people to lose their websites. Also, you could find yourself with a blank box where you put your graphic if you remote link. If you use your scrapbook URL's in your WebTV Page builder or e-mail signature, you can avoid these problems. When you want to use the scrapbook URL's in your e-mail or on a page, there is a small adjustment you need to know about. When you retrieve the URL from the source viewer, it will look something like: http://comunity-2.webtv.net/... When you use it in HTML codes, drop the -2 or whatever number pagebuilder has assigned it. The URL to use would look something like: http://community.webtv.net/... This is helpful if you want to use a background other than the Page Style that WebTV offers. Find the background you want to use and transload it into your scrapbook. Obtain the URL. When you create a new page, select any of the solid color Page Styles. You must put the background codes in the very first item you choose with the "add an item" button. If your first item is "Picture", put the HTML codes in the "Caption" test bed. You must repeat this step with the first item added after any page break, also. I hope you have found this tutorial helpful. If you have any questions or comments, you can E-MAIL ME and I will try to help. I have three other sites that might be helpful to homepage builders.
