For most of my life, I believed the death penalty was wrong. I felt so strongly about it that I participated in protests and vigils for the condemned. How stupid I was! At the time, I believed all human life was valuable. Now, I realize that human predators have no right to exist. All humans are predators, but they are also social animals. If people cannot live among their species without killing, exploiting, or causing the pain and suffering of others, they should be taken out. Not in some sterile room with a painless lethal injection, but with something that makes their last sensation pain.
If I were dictator of the world, I would expand the death penalty to include all lethal actions that are deliberate or negligent. I would include all sex offenses, repeated violent crimes (including burglary even when nobody is home), and first offense home invasions and carjackings even if no deaths resulted. Drug offenses? Absolutely! Sellers, smugglers, manufacturers, even users who commit violent crimes to support their habits would be executed.
We have become a predatory society because we have decided to make excuses and find value in the lives of those who prey upon others. Many horrible crimes are committed by repeat offenders. If those people were taken out the first time they committed a violent act, how much less suffering would there be in the world? Enough to make it worthwhile!
We have become a drug infested society because we have decided drug addiction is a sickness. Baloney! It is something these people do to themselves and others around them! We tolerate it, we make excuses for it, we accept it as an excuse for behavior. I believe we should force addicts into confinement for extensive treatment a certain number of times (no more than three) and when they backslide after that, take them out! So many of the crimes committed are for drugs. Some nations such as Mexico and Colombia are under siege by drug lords because of American addicts. The citizens of these countries are dying because of American junkies. I say exterminate the cause of their misery here where it lives!
A way to make the death penalty more palatable would be to call it what it is: Extermination. The same as when you call the bug man to get rid of fleas, roaches and other parasites. That is exactly what it is. Death penalty sounds like some sort of punishment for a schoolyard tiff or a yardage penalty in some sort of sports game. To Hell with that!
Making Extermination the only option for predatory crimes would cut down on appeals, too. How many times have you heard about a retry because someone was given the death penalty when it could have been second degree murder or negligible homicide? Screw that! Exterminate them all! Yes, I have changed a big deal on this issue. So what? I see the reality now, and the reality is that taking out predators is the only way to go.
