The principal "player" who appears on the following
pages is a grinning little Japanese gentleman I first
encountered a dozen or so years ago. At that time, he
struck me as a somewhat naive and simple soul so
I christened him "Inakamono" which in Japanese
translates into something like "country bumpkin."

As I began making changes in his appearance
and clothing, placing him in a variety of situations
however, I discovered that he started to take on a
new personna; almost as if on his own, he acquired
if not a sophistication, well then, a sharp wit and
savvy belied by his disarming two-tooth smile.

"Country bumpkin" seemed to fit him well at first
and although the name "Inakamono" may no
longer suit him, I have retained it partly out of
habit but also because he himself has become
quite enamored of it. You be the judge as you
travel with "Inakamono" on his cinematic
journey through some scenes and sounds
contained in these "fractured flicks."
