Although I was not aware of it at the time,
this "scrapbook" began the first time I used
the graphic of the grinning little Japanese
gentleman in my e-mail signature. That was
about two years ago and since that time, I
have made changes in his colors, costumes,
stances and actions to suit various holidays,
situations or whatever notion happened
to strike me at the time. I gave him the name, "Inakamono" which
loosely translated means something like
"country bumpkin" in Japanese. He may
not be deserving of that title but at first it
struck me as quite appropriate; however,
having come to
know him better, I have
learned to appreciate the "down to earth"
savvy hiding beneath his outward naivete. Here he is, the original "Inakamono":
He appears here on these pages in some
situations that may be familiar to you but there
are also many new ones that I hope you enjoy.I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the
friends and fellow newsgroup posters whose
suggestions, encouragement and proddings
were instrumental in moving me to put these
pages together and it is only fitting that they
share a good part of the blame for them.
