If I claim that I’m free of sin, I’m only fooling myself. That’s a claim that only shows off my ignorance of God. But if I admit my sins, he is faithful to forgive me and to cleanse me from every wrong.

If I will turn from my wicked ways, casting down the very thought of doing wrong, my Lord will have mercy on me. Yes, I will turn to you Father, who is lavish with forgiveness.

If I will not cover over my sin and be honest with you Lord, I will find your mercy by admitting to them and leaving them behind.

Let me realize that I am not all I should be, but help me to focus my energies on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning me onward to Jesus. The decision has been made, there is no turning back.

Let me never forget that Jesus was the sacrifice for my sin. When I do sin I can know that He has already paid the price for my sin. When Jesus served as a sacrifice for sin, he solved the sin problem for good, not only mine, but all the sins of the world.

Scripture referenced from the NLT and The Message found in the following chapters 1 John 1:8-10; Isaiah 55:7; Proverbs 28:13; Philippians 3:13-14; 1 John 2:1-2

Jesus has already paid the price for your sin. If you haven’t chosen to accept Jesus Christ as God’s eternal gift of salvation you may want to consider it at this time.
