The shooter now continues to roll the dice until one of two thing happens.
1 The shooter rolls his/her "point" number before rolling a seven (7).
If this happens you win the Pass Line bet.
The same person continues to shoot and a new game is begun.
2 The shooter rolls a seven (7) before rolling the point number.
If this happens you lose the Pass Line bet.
And the next person in line at the table will become the new shooter and a new game will begin.
Scroll down to the ODDS explaination and be sure you understand everything about pass line bets and odds before going on to the "Don't Pas Line" explaination.
Now think opposite of the above explaination.
That's an easy way to understand the "Don't Pass" bet.
If you bet in the "Don't Pass" and the shooter rolls a 7 or 11 on the "come out" roll you lose because you are now betting against the shooter.
If he/she rolls a 2, 3, 12 you win because you are betting against the shooter.
Because casinos are operated by such nice people they like to find ways to get an advantage over you.
So you will see "Bar 12" or "Bar 2" marked in the Don't Pass area.
This means they will not pay if you have a bet in theDon't Pass Line and the shooter rolls either a 12 or 2.
If the shooter rolls a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 that is the "Point"
If the shooter rolls his/her point number before rolling a seven (7 you lose the Don't Pass bet.
If te shooter rolls a seven (7) before rolling the point number you win the Don't Pass bet.
If you are betting on the Pass Line (betting the shooter will win).
If the point number is
4 or 10 The odds are 2 to 1 and you will win $2 for every $1 you bet on odds.
5 or 9 The odds are 3 to 2 and you win $3 for every $2 you bet on odds.
6 or 8 The odds are 6 to 5 and you win $6 for every $5 you bet on
odds.
If you are betting on the Don't Pass Line (betting the shooter will lose). On this bet you will have to "give" the odds instead of "taking" the odds when you bet on the Pass Line.
If the point number is
4 or 10 You must bet $2 to win $1.
5 or 9 You must bet $3 to win $2.
6 or 8 You must bet $6 to win $5.
That sounds like a bad bet, right?
Having to bet more than you will win.
Well, remember this;
There are more ways to roll a seven (7) on a pair of dice than any other number.
Did you notice the big payoffs for 4 and 10?
They are the hardest to roll.
5 and 9 the next easiest, and 6 and 8 the next easiest.
