Fred's Copy and Transfer Practice Page

Msntv2 note - This web page was originally
made for the Msn Companion. Most of
the functions will work on Msntv2 :~)

Do you know how to copy, delete, and transfer 
 information from one location to another? Just
 for your e-mails alone this is a valuable tool.
 Lets do  a little practice -----
 -----------------------------------------
 This will put you in Ctrl of your computer.
 Note - Not all keyboards have the Ctrl key.
 In that case use the Cmd key. 
 -------------------------------------------
 To copy all of the information on this page--
 Press and hold the(Ctrl)and give 
 the (A) key a quick press. Notice that all
 the text is illuminated!
 Note -- Some computers require a right click
 on the mouse to do this ! Not the MsnTv2!
 ------------------------------------------
 To copy the illuminated text ------ 
 Press and hold the (Ctrl)key and give
 the (C) key a quick press. Now you have all
 the data  stored to take to your page or 
 another location.      
 -------------------------------------------
 To re-print what you have copied --------  
 Press and hold (Ctrl)and give (V)a quick press.
 
 For a demo delete the highlighted data by
 pressing the Delete key or do a Ctrl + X 
 All of the type will disappear until you
 replace it with the Ctrl + V
 ------------------------------------------
 Easy! Right?  Now, suppose you want to 
 delete part of this data and put in your own 
 words.  Place the marker at the
 end of this -- word --and press Delete.
 As long as you continue to press the Delete   
 key, you will continue to delete data.

 If you wanted to delete all of the illuminated
 data, there are 2 ways to do this.
 Ctrl + X 
 or just press your Delete key.You can
 restore
 the data by pressing Ctrl + V
 ( if you had copied using Ctrl + C ).

 Want to copy one word or sentence? Place
 the marker at the desired location and
 press and hold 
 (Shift) and press the back ( <- ) arrow.
 Notice that this text is now illuminated.
 Copy with (Ctrl) + (C) and transfer 
 to another location with (Ctrl) + (V) 
 just as above.

 Want to copy a vertical column? Place the
 marker on the left side of the page and press
 and hold
 (Shift) and press the up or down arrow.

This is  really fast for copying or deleting
 a certain area within a long page.
 Now copy the dark blue highlighted
 area as before with a Ctrl + C and reprint at your  desired location with a Ctrl + V
 -------------------------------------------
 And Last - But not the least - Copy with 
 your MOUSE.

Place the marker in the location to copy.

Click and hold your left mouse button.
 Slowly move the marker across the text 
 to copy and notice that it is highlighted
 (turns dark blue).
 Now to copy (Ctrl + C) and transfer (Ctrl + V)

If I  had wanted to delete the highlighted
 text that I just copied---

(Click the Delete button) or (Ctrl +X)

Msntv2 mouse tricks.......

My favorite is point and click for precise
copy in a crowded area. Point the mouse
arrow to the first word to copy. The arrow
will turn to a I character. Press the left mouse button. Now move the arrow to the last word. Hold the shift key down and then click
the left mouse button again. The area between the 2 clicks is now highlighted for copy.

Method 2.... When you are in a area that will not (normal copy), place the arrow on the start word and double click (sometimes 3 clicks). Just that word will be highlighted. Now hold down the shift button and click the arrow key. It will continue to highlight one word at a time unless you hold the arrow key down and let it roll.

Method 3....When 1 & 2 will not work,try this-
while pressing the keyboard Alt key, click
the left mouse button. This will bring up
a small selction box. Place the pointer on
"Select all" and left click. All of the data
is then highlighted for copy (Ctrl+C).
The Msntv2 has limited copy abilty so if the
page is too big, it may not copy. A future update will correct this problem.
