Candle Magic is the easiest and most convenient kind of spell to perform. Because it employs very little ritual and few cerimonial tools. All you really need is an intent and a candle.
Of course, the more embelishment you add to your spell, the better the outcome will be. Because by taking the time to embelish your spell, you are concentrating on your goal. Which will impart more power into th working of that spell.
The three basic principles of performing a spell are Concentration, Will Power and Visualization. You first must concentrate on your goal. Then you must will your spell to work for you. And finally you must visualize the outcome of your spell to be as you want it to be.
I prefer to use a very simple candle rather than a decorative one, because the decoration distracts from your concentation. It is probably wasteful to use a large candle, because each spell requires a virgin candle. So you shouldn't buy a large candle with the intention of using it for several spells. A candle that has been used in a spell carries with it vibrations that would intefere with the working of another spell. You also should not use a candle that has be previously used for household purposes either. You must use a virgin candle.
The color of the candle that you use is also important. These are the uses for each color of candle:
RED- health,energy,strength,courage, sexual potency.
PINK- love affection and romance.
YELLOW- intellectualism, imagination memory and creativity.
GREEN- fertility, abundance, good luck and harmony
BLUE-inspiration, occult wisdom, protection and devotion
PURPLE- Material wealth, higher psychic ability, spiritual power and idealism
SILVER- clairvoyance, inspiration, astral energy and intuition
ORANGE- ambition. career matters and the law.
Once you have your candle you should handle it while concentrating on your intent. This is the time to annoint or dress your candle with the proper oil for your intention. Occult shops sell many types of cerimonial oils. If that is not convenient than a basic mineral oil will do.
Annoint your candle by rubbing the oil into it. The basic rule is to rub from the ends toward the center of the candle if you want to attract something and from the center out toward the ends if you want to banish or get rid of something.
After you annoint your candle take your athame (or a sharpe instrument) and carve your intentions into your candle. Be specific using names and descriptions etc.
When you feel that your concentration has imparted your intentions into your candle you should light it. Watch the candle burn and visualize your spell working. Play it through in your mind as if you were watching a movie. Spend as much time on this step as possible. When you are finished say "As I will, so mote it be", and blow out the candle.
Now inspect your candle and it's drippings. "Read" them as you would tea leaves. Look for shapes in the wax. This will help you to determine the success of your spell. If the candle burned quickly, the spell will work quickly. If your candle goes out before you blow it out or if it is difficult to light, that is a bad sign. If you are using a candle in a glass container and the glass becomes very black and sooty, it is a signs that there are negative forces working against you.<> If you are performing a spell involving more than one person, you should use a candle that has been personalized for each person. After you blow out the candles, inspect the drippings. If the drippings from one candle cover the drippings of the other candle, than that person will dominate the other. If one person's candle burns faster, it is a sign that that person will be most affected by your spell. Take your time reading and intepreting your candle and the drippings. It might be a good idea to make a note of your reading so that you can refer to it in the future when determining how your spell is working.
Finally. you must dispose of you remaining candle and wax properly. The best way is to bury them. (but not in your own yard) You can also throw them into moving water by tossing them over your left shoulder. Another acceptable way to dispose of them is to place them in the middle of two crossroads and walk away without looking back.
Take a virgin candle, preferably in a color representing your need, if that is not avalable the all purpose white candle should be used.
Annoint the candle with oil, an oil fitting to your need should be used here, if you are not sure about the oils..use regular mineral oil If your intention is to to banish something, you should start at the center of the candle with the oil, and rub out to the ends, if your intention is to draw something, you should rub the oil from the ends toward the center of the candle. while saying "This candle is now consecrated in the name of the Lord and Lady, and all negativity is released".
Then you would carve in any symbols you care to use. Runes are popular with some people, as are Zodiac symbols. You may also carve your exact intentions on the candle.
You should then take a moment to focus on what it is you want, picturing the outcome as clearly as you can. Light the candle, and let it burn down all the way, or as far as possible, relighting it again as soon as you can, till it is consumed. As the flame dies out, state your need firmly, even if its to yourself, state it, then let it go.
It Is Done!
Name the candles for the two of you. Tell the candle that represents te person from whom you want to seperate, that you do not receiprocate his/her feelings. Wish him/her well and ask that he/she find the right one for him/her. Visualize him/her finding the right person for him/her and being happy.
Start burning the candles back to back. Let the candles burn for about 15 min. while you visualize the breakup of this "relationship". Visualize both of you being happy with others. Move the candles apart a few inches each day, while you relight the candles and continue the meditation.
At the end of a week, take the remaining candles and bury them somewhere in earth, or throw them into moving water. Visualizing the break. Now you should avoid that person.
It Is Done!
Write the name of the person needing to be healed upon a human shaped candle ( make sure its shaped in the correct gender). Visualize healing energy in the form of a white light flowing from your hands to the candle while annointing the candle with myrrh or mint oil and saying these words,"In the divine name of the God that breathes life into us all, I consecrate and charge this candle as a magickal tool for healing."
Place the candle above a photo of the person in need. Light the candle. As the candle burns down concentrate on the person in the photo. Will him or her to become well again and chant the following, "Magic mend and candle burn. Sickness end and good health return."
Continue concentrating on the person as the candle continues to burn..
It is Done!
You will need a black bowl and a black candle.
Preferably during a waning moon, light the candle. Drip enought wax into the bottom of the bowl to hold the candle securely. Pour spring water into the bowl until it covers half of the candle. Now sit in front of the candle and focus on the flame. Imagine the spell (that has been put upon you) as being part of the flame. Gather as much energy as you possibly can, and project the spell into the flame. Allow the candle to burn down until it is extiguished by the water. Take the bowl outside and by the light of the moon dig a hole and pour the water into it. Then place the bowl and candle into the hole and bury it. Say, "I have broken the spell that was placed upon me. As I will so mote it be."
Your spell is done... go on with your life.
