The Botanic Gardens

On the first day in Singapore, I decided to get my feet wet and find out about the workings of the city. Not only did my feet get wet, but my entire body.
It began already in the early morning, when at about 2:30 am I stepped out of the airconditioned terminal at Changi Airport into the sweltering heat of the night to get my cab to the hotel. Once there I took a quick shower and jumped in bed for a few hours' sleep.

I'd done my homework before I left, so I already knew more or less where I wanted to go. When I ventured out of the hotel onto Orchard Road I turned right and headed for the Visitor Information Center, a few blocks down the road, which was fridgidly air-conditioned and almost made me freeze over.
From there, armed with maps and folders, I decided to first go visit the Botanic Gardens.

And by riding the SIA "Hop-on Bus" I took in a nice scenic tour of Singapore to boot. With my Singapore Airlines Boarding Pass I got a day pass for S$3.-, normally S$12.-.
Enough talk, let's go!
