Singapore Sling

This is what you've been
waiting for.
What you can't miss in
Singapore.
The Singapore Sling,
Need I say More?

Yes, a Singapore Sling can make you poetic.
I had my first one, for free, on board Singapore Airlines and I was not all that impressed, but then, what can you expect, it was small, premixed and tasted somewhat like a raspberry Life Saver.
Tried one again during the Harbour Cruise and for S$8.50 it was much better.

Then, one day, I went to the Long Bar at the Raffles Hotel and ordered the REAL ONE. It was a big drink and set me back S$19,80!!
On the tables are big boxes with peanuts and one is encouraged to throw the shells on the floor. A cure for the frustrations of not being able to litter? It was quite dark inside the bar and the tape I made there did not come out too well. With that as an excuse, I had to come back another day to have a Sling outside and rerecord what it looked like.

For any mixmasters amongst you, here follows the Recipe. In the decimal system by the way. Remember the British.

Recipe
30 ml Gin
15 ml Cherry Brandy
120 ml Pineapple Juice
15 ml Lime Juice
7.5 ml Cointreau
7.5 ml Dom Benedictine
10 ml Grenadine
A Dash of Angostura Bitters
Garnish with a slice of Pineapple and a Cherry

At home I went and priced the ingredients and came up with an amount that would almost allow me to fly back and order another one.
