Most of Zürich's attractions, like e.g. the Bahnhofstrasse, the Altstadt and the Limmatquai, lie within walking distance from each other and the Central Station. When it is too far to walk or the weather is a bit wet, or both, there are trams, trains and busses to get you there.
Needless to say I was in 7th heaven.

Every day started with buying a 24 hour day card ( Tageskarte ) at the Triemli train stop near the hotel. This card allowed me 24 hour unlimited travel on Zürich's public transit, within the city.
It took 15 minutes to the Central Station on line 10 of the S-Bahn. Then I traversed the station, crossed the street and picked a tram to my next adventure.
Thus, armed with my "Tageskarte", a pair of comfy shoes and a sturdy umbrella, I explored Zürich and her environs.

I literally walked up and down the Altstadt.
Admired some churches.
Went up the Uetliberg.
Paid a visit to the Zoo, and the Stadtgärtnerei, the City Nursery.
