OUR BROADWAY 2000 REVIEW

Pardon our 'phraseology'...but 'great honk' & 'ye gods'! "The Music Man" was awesome! Would we 'Lida' you?

The heck with two thumbs up...we attended the last evening of previews at the Neil Simon Theatre on 4/26/00 (the Broadway Revival officially opened on 4/27/00) & give it '76 Trombones'!

Of course we'll be the first to admit that nostalgia made us biased...this being the year of the 30th Reunion of the SBHS Class of '70 & it being our Senior Play & all...but this phenomonal cast had the whole audience on its feet for the entirety of the last two numbers.

We were lucky enough to meet up with Craig Bierko (Harold Hill), Rebecca Luker (Marian Paroo), Paul Benedict (Mayor Shinn), Ruth Williamson (Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn) & Clyde Alves (Tommy Djilas) outside of the theatre after the performance & it was neat to hear each of them comment about how much fun they're having doing the show.

'Sincere'ly,
(: karen & diane :)

2001 Field Trip

Fourteen of us got together to attend the Saturday afternoon performance of "The Music Man" at The Neil Simon Theatre on 6/2/01. We met at Rivara's Grill House (formerly The Owl & I) in Fair Lawn at noon & departed via bus for the city & the 2:00pm matinee performance. We returned to Rivara's for dinner & some of us hung out at the bar well into the evening. Eric McCormack had replaced Craig Bierko in the lead role as 'Harold Hill' & there were several other cast changes. I think I can speak for all of us when I say that our 6/2/01 Music Man "field trip" was a definite success. We had a great time on the bus, at the show & over dinner.. good company.. good conversation.. a lot of laughs & some great reminiscing.. not much more one could ask for. :)

The revival closed at the end of 2001. :(
