IMA SPORTY LADY

Sporty in 1996. She was 11 yrs old. I bought her as a yearling in 1986.

Mary showing Sporty in the N.C. Hunt Horse Complex in Raleigh. 1995. This is "Huntseat" style.

Sporty & me showing western. This was a 1992 show. It was HOTTTT that day! And me wearing all black, trying to look slimmer. The things you'll do for looks, LOL!

This is another show held in Oct. 1992. It was much cooler!

BIG BAD JOHN P.

Mary showing Big Bad John P. This was in 1979. John won a lot, and is my all time favorite horse. He left me Feb. 15, 1987 at 15 years of age. I miss him.

John and Mary jumping. This was definitely in my younger days!

We also showed western pleasure. Here we are winning another class in 1978. This was an open show against all breeds of horses. We had a great day, pulling in 3 first places (2 crystal bowls & a $50 stakes class) a 2nd & a 4th place. John was shown both hunter & western. He truly was a versatile horse!

Here we are picking up another ribbon, a second place, if memory serves correctly.

The previous photos of John & me were taken by Kim Jones. Thanks Kim, for preserving my precious memories for me!

We did more than show! Here we are having a stroll in the countryside.

Notice how much John & Sporty resemble each other? Well, when I bought them they were both bays with blankets. I am cursed with roanitis. At least bays roan attractively, & keep their dark legs, manes & tales. Can you guess what color Xena is now? My curse is at work!!!!!!!!

See what I mean? If you've seen Xena's baby pics on the intro page, you can tell how much she has lightened! She is 5 years old here, taken in 2002.
