I spent one whole hour writing about Vel and I doing our thing last Wed,
and was just finishing it when I got a pop-up that webtv could not be
reached and to watch tv or reconnect which I have been doing since
2:30pm. Now I can't get my page back and I can't remember what the devil
I wrote, All I can say now is we had a fantastic afternoon taking
pictures during the NorthEastern Storm. We got soaking wet, hair
dripping, feet muddy, and really cold but it was fun. We went down this
one street in Longport ( a summer resort with beautiful homes etc) and
just as we were pulling to the side of the road so we could look out
over the ocean, WOOOOOOSSHH, A BIG WAVE came and hit the jetty and
splashed over the car and scared the devil out of us. We both jumped and
Vel almost took off down onto the beach, in the car of course. Well let
me tell you, we laughed so hard but it was also such a shock we shook.
We went to several places, one on the way to Longport called Seaview
Harbor. What a ritzy area that is. All the homes have to be worth from
500,000 and up. Took a picture of the boats too, but they were in the
marina and water not to rough there. We went to another place in that
area and got some more pics. We decided we were both nuts.Raining,
blowing so hard, almost knocked us off our feet and there we were
snapping pictures. It was so much fun. Then we went into Longport and
that is when we got swamped with the wave. We parked on that street and
watched the waves, it was exciting. Some of those waves were so high and
when they hit the jettys it would make a loud thunderous splash. We took
pictures in all directions but sadly they can't possibly show how high
they were. When you looked way out toward the horizen the waves looked
like mountains when they would start to swell and then coming in you
would see the white caps and they were churning in all directions never
looking alike. Each time they hit, you would hear the roar of the ocean.
It was exilerating and horrendous at the same time. After we were so
drenched and really chilled to the bone we decided that we were ready
for a bite to eat. Headed back toward Somers Point and just went to the
diner cause it was near 5:30pm and I had to be home by 7pm. We had soup
and a cheeseburger, got off cheap, haha, no, no margaritas today. We
were cold and needed coffee. So we jabbered about the fun we had and
what we wish we had done. The batteries run down in the camera, Still
trying to figure out the sequence of Vel's camera. LOL. Well all in all
we had a great day and enjoyed the storm. Those winds must have been at
least 40 mile an hour and the temperature was 45 but felt like freezing.
Yesterday and today it is still very windy, but partly sunny. Hope you
enjoy what pictures we got and I did manage to put a note to each one so
you get an idea where we were. So my friends I will sign off for now til
the next jaunt of the wandering grannies. Lots of love to all. PS, glad
I didn't get a pop up this time.
