Jun 7, 2000 Vi and Vel's day off Hi everybody, Well Vel and I were off and running all day. We drove about 175 miles and actually were no more than 50 miles from home. We covered 3 counties and even some of our own. haha. Found a nice place for lunch miles from anything, way out in the farm county. Very quaint and it was called a village, all little shops, a book store, craft store and this restaurant we ate in was all decorated with roses here and there with pink tablecloths, the walls were an off white with a rose border around the top , on the walls were pictures with roses in them, and had shelves in different areas with cups and saucers decorated with roses. It had very pretty lace curtains on all of the many windows, also there were 4 separate dining rooms, the big one had a nice fire place and the mantle had artificial roses laying on the top. the outside had several huge rose bushes plus lots and lots of pansies and other springtime flower along the brick walkway that went all around the different buildings. It was a lovely place. We decided to get a brochure of the place because we had no idea where we were or how we even got there. We take so many side roads. can't remember where we been, how can we when we don't know where we are going to begin with. Had a wonderful day and when we got back in this area we went over by the bay near where I live and watched the sun go down. We had a couple of good laughs, one of which Vel and I had tears from laughing so much and literally had to pull to the side of the road cause Vel could not see. Took a few minutes for us to get under control. It all had to do with a story that Bee told about one of her trips and getting stopped because the women she had in the car did not have her seat belt on, and I had forgot to put mine on, and me being of a good size, it made Vel think of this and she started to ask me ( I think this is what it was) if I had my dr's excuse not to wear one because this lady with Bee was supposed to be of a huge size and could not fit in the seatbelt. I can't describe the incident, but it sure was funny to us. Just could not stop laughing and had to dry the tears before we took off. Oh my what a great day.Oh there is more, but it is late and this is a long read. will have to tell you about the second place we stopped another time. Hope you enjoy reading about our outing.
