Chapter 29

July 24, 2004

Thought I better report in. I am alive and well, Been so busy, haha. Got out 2 times last week with Vel. Monday we went for blood work, Yipeeee! haha, then we went for breakfast and took a ride, sat by the water and just enjoyed the scenery. Was a nice day, not too humid.

Then Wed. we went to a morning baseball game in Atlantic City. Minor league game, played agains Newark, was really a good game. AC Surfs won 7-5. Beautiful stadiium, near the water, and no bad seats, 2 levels. Was very crowded with children from a lot of different camps and summer schools. Never saw so many kids in one place. Was nice though, The counselors kept them under control. Was nice, Vel has a handicap sticker, so we parked almost at the door, could not get any closer. and they have an elevator to take you to the second level. that worked great for us, since both of us are like a couple old women, gimping along. Had great seats and by noon our seats were in the shade, thank goodness. There is also a private plane airport in back of the playing field so we could see planes taking off and landing. also the skyline of Atlantic City.

We both enjoyed our outing and hopefully do it again. After the game, we went over on the mainland, and went to Denny's for lunch. was good, and the place is nice and clean. plus the waiter was very nice.

After we left there we headed home but I got Vel to take me to my daughter Linda's house. She only works a 1/2 day on Wed. She wasn't home, which I knew, but would be home around 3-3-30. Vel came into the yard with me, and we just sat on her deck under the umbrella, Linda has a nice back yard, The one that looks like it should be on an island somewhere.
Lots of pretty flowers, a tiki hut with a bar, a small fish pond with a fountain in the middle, a couple of artificial palm trees too. Really a relaxing place. Of course Vel and I always have something to talk about, haha. After 30 years, you would think we would run out of conversation, but seems like there is always something kids, politics, tv shows, local news, family, friends, etc. very seldom quiet. except when we are driving then we can go for miles and just enjoy the scenery.

Now we dream about wanting to go on a trip, but with her shoulder and me not driving am afraid it is a dream. I am sorry I decided not to drive. when I had my accident, think I spoke too soon, after all I know I am not a mental case. haha. still alert etc. just had that doubt as to why I hit the pole, lack of sleep or did I pass out. So my motto has always been, "If in doubt, Don't." Anyway, We did have a nice couple of days. No dead ends, weren't in the country to find any. Maybe next week.

Hope all of you have been having a nice summer and for those who have been having any problems or illness, I am sorry and hope things have improved. I do keep all of the grannies and their families in my prayers every night. Have a great weekend.
Hugs to all.
Vi
