Chapter 18

October 17, 2001

It was a beautiful day yesterday so a good day to wander, but first I had to go for my Chelation Therapy, which btw, I am doing very good, BP is way down, cholesterol dropped 8 pointsn within the normal range now, and pain in legs is about 75% less. All in all I am very pleased. Still have 11 or 12 to go. Anyway, I got down around 12:30pm, so we were outta there and on the way. Haha, only went about 7 miles and we were hungry, no breakfast, so decided to eat, Very nice diner in Cherry Hill and right on the circle, whoa, quick decision to go there. Had a good lunch, healthy too, then took off, Oh dear which way, heck we went straight across the road, What a gorgeous day, the trees were pretty, not as nice as last year but you know it is fall. Quite a bit of traffic, darn people like to ride right on your tail and we want to sightsee. So as we drove we did get to some side streets which took us off the main highway but heading toward another one but not as congested. Now do we want to go East, North our South. Haha, This decision making taxes the brain, oh heck, make a left and as we are riding just jabbering away,I look out the window and oh my gosh,Look,in the sky, their is someone in the air, with a blue parachute on, oh my gosh Vel, look another one, Well we were excited, didn't see any plane, Next thing there are maybe 4-5 all with different color chutes on, green striped, red, blue, yellow, What a site to see, ended up we counted at least 12,

then decided wonder where they landed or what was this about. drove a little bit and turned right, about 3 blocks in we came to where this all happens A sky diving school and also learning how to fly a plane. We pulled in, more small aircraft then we could count, but not a soul in site. We wondered where all those people landed. Haha, The airfield was pretty big, but surrounded by tall trees and woods. we laughed and said if it was us we would be hanging in one of the trees. When we were watching them in the air, it was so windy, thought for sure a couple of them were going to hit ground, their parachte was off to the side of them and they were coming down pretty fast, but I guess they were able to get straightend out. No ambulances were around. Anyway we sat their for a while but no more divers so we took off, We headed south toward some of our old stamping grounds, Found a lake that we had been to, Vel forgot her camera, CRS, ya know, anyway, it is very pretty and off the road, sorry to say, I think we interupted a couple cause they were not expecting two old ladies come along and park there. LOL, poor guy, they walked over to the lake a couple of minutes after we arrived, and he didn't even have his pants on right, So after we fouled up their quickie, (we are soo mean), we left. Here is a pick but it was taken before, no sunshine,
Well on the road again, just driving along enjoying our outing, finally came to a town called Rio Grands, oops, P stop, urgent too, Went to a Mac Donalds, their restrooms are handy. Had coffee and just gabbed, one thing with us, we always have something to talk about, and really enjoy whatever we are doing Now on the road again, only about 25 miles from home, but still early, 3:30 or so. Head south to Cape May. Gosh it was such a nice day, sun was brilliant, decided to go to the point and sit a spell. There were quite a few people riding bicycles, walking, and just sitting on the benches or walking along the beach. Some people were surf fishing, and then their were guy, surf boarding. Water had some pretty good waves, tide was coming in. You looked out to the horizon and lots of big boats, we could not make out whether they were pleasure boats or Coast Guard. There were 12 that we could counts. There was a beautifu big sail boat with on red sail and one white, looked so pretty with the ocean and sky as a background. Could see the lighthouse from where we were also the ferry that goes to Deleware, but off in the distance. If we got in the car guess it would be about 7-8 miles to get to it. Here are pictures from before just where we parked. Of course, different day, and season, maybe early spring, no people around, The one of the big house is on a side street. It is a bed and breakfast. In the summer you can't get a room anywhere on the weekends, have to make reservations. Very Expensive town for a vacation. Most places are at least 100 to 250.00 per night. Right Vel.

We sat on the bench and watched the people go by. Lots of seniors.haha. Decided to wait for the sun to go down, and as it got near time the more people came. One old biddie, brought a bag with bread to feed the seagulls, Wow, as soon as she threw the first piece 50 gulls were hovering.

They are pretty in flight, that is about all, The scavengers of the sea, Mess everyones cars. This lady put on a funny looking hat, probably afraid they would mess in her hair. We would have died laughing at that. Looked like a white stocking over her head. hehe. Anyway, the sun went down, and what a site to see. It looks like it is dropping off into the ocean, very gradually and finally looks like a tiny tear. It is gorgeous. Seemed closer to us then when we used to watch it go down in the Gulf. That I think was even pretterier, if that is possible. Well we were getting cold, before the sun was gone, now it was really chilly, so decided to leave. Now it is a little past 6pm, We were hungry AGAIN, so took off, found a nice restaurant, and had a really good dinner, Manhatten clam chowder, big tossed salad, Flounder and oysters, plus string beans and dessert. Can you imagine. Heck we don't cook so we have to have dinner once a week. It was soo good and all this for only $12.95. No we did not have a margarita. Had coffee. haha. We got to laughing, because all in one breath, Vel complained of 4 things in a row, can't remember what now but we laughed, Nothing important. Haha, Well after dinnner we headed home with a full stomach, uncomfortable, but it was worth it. We had a wonderful day and looking forward to the next. Wow, I best to get moving. have to be to work at 11. Hope you have a great day. Lots of hugs to all. Of course this is long as usual.
