Donnie was a greedy little boy. He would not share anything that belonged to him with anybody. He would not share so much as a cookie with another kid. He surely wouldn't share his toys! He was so greedy he would even try to take cookies and toys from other kids.
Donnie had no friends. Everybody in town knew he was a greedy little boy and they didn't want to play with him.
Even his dog didn't want to play with him because he was so greedy he wouldn't give his dog a treat. There was nobody for Donnie to play with. He spent hours in his yard and his room playing all by himself.
One Halloween a spider came into Donnie's room. The spider learned very quickly that he was in the room of a greedy little boy. The spider didn't care much for Donnie, either. He just went about his business like Donnie wasn't even there.
Because greedy boys are also mean boys, Donnie watched the spider all day long, thinking of ways to torment the spider. Finally, he decided to throw toys at the spider until he got bored. Then, he would come back from Trick or Treat with all his loot and squash the spider. He would squash that spider until it wasn't anything but a grease spot! Donnie laughed to himself at the thought. "No more icky spider!" he said aloud to himself.
Donnie got dressed up to go Trick or Treating. He dressed up like a pirate that Halloween. He had an extra large treat bag because he was so greedy he had planned to go to some of the houses two or three times.
While the greedy little boy was going from door to door, the spider was back in the room getting his revenge. He ate every one of the cookies Donnie had hidden from everybody else. When he ran out of cookies, he started eating Donnie's toys. That spider ate so many cookies and so many toys that he grew to be six feet tall and six feet wide. When he ran out of toys to eat, he ate the TOYBOX. When every last splinter of that toybox was eaten, that spider was eight feet tall and eight feet wide! He was waiting for that greedy little boy!
Donnie came back from Trick or Treating happier than he had ever been in his life. He had gone to some of the houses four times! When his own bag had gotten full, he stole another bag that didn't have very much in it from another little boy. He filled that bag up, too. When he opened the door to his room, he was thinking so hard about that candy in his Trick or Treat bags that he didn't notice that spider. AND THAT WAS HIS BIG MISTAKE! The spider ate Donnie the greedy little boy AND his two bags of candy! Gobbled them right up, he did!
