Peter was a little boy who loved Candy Corn more than anything in the world. He loved Candy Corn more than he loved his Teddy Bear. He loved Candy Corn more than he loved his toy drum. He even loved Candy Corn more than he loved his GI Joe.
Peter looked forward to Halloween every year because he knew there would be lots of Candy Corn everywhere. His main reason for going Trick or Treat on Halloween was to get lots and lots of Candy Corn in his treat bag. Peter dreamed about Candy Corn all year long, so by the time Halloween rolled around, he was more than ready.
One Halloween, Peter's Mom bought a new candy dish for the Candy Corn. It was yellow and orange and painted right smack in the bottom of the new bowl was a big black bat wearing a reddish-orange vest. When his Mom filled the new bowl with Candy Corn, the bat was completely covered.
Peter liked the bat very much. He knew from the first day that it was a very special bat. He couldn't wait to eat all the candy and see the bat again. He ate and ate and ate the candy when his Mom wasn't looking. He ate so much candy he thought he was going to pop, but he wanted to see that bat.
The day arrived when Peter had eaten enough candy to see the bat's eyes. He stood by the bowl for hours looking at the bat eyes. He couldn't tear himself away from the bowl and those big bat eyes. Soon, the bat's eyes began glowing; they were a bright, bright yellow! They seemed to be telling him to eat more Candy Corn so that he could see all of the bat.
Peter ate and ate and ate the Candy Corn when his Mom wasn't looking. The more Candy Corn he ate, the more the bat's eyes changed colors. They changed from yellow to green to orange and then to a bright fiery red! The eyes got meaner and meaner looking with each Candy Corn Peter ate.
Finally, the bowl was empty and there the bat was. It was completely uncovered. Peter could see its mean red eyes, and its huge white fangs and its sharp pointy claws. Then, he heard a growl from the bat: a mean growl! Peter was scared. He couldn't move he was so scared. Then, the bat came to life and flew out of the candy dish onto Peter's face. He landed right on Peter's mouth and began blowing stinking bat breath into his mouth. He blew and blew and blew until Peter exploded. There was yucky sticky Candy Corn all over the walls and all over the floors! And that was the end of Peter, the boy who ate too much Candy Corn on Halloween!
