*~THESE THINGS I KNOW~*

Whether I exist or not
the sea will still touch the sand
And sunsets and sunrises will
continue to be ohhh so grand

The stars will continue
their march across the sky
And people will still marvel
at a seagull's cry

The smell of fresh cut grass
will still please the nose
As will the fragrance
of a newly blossomed Rose

The haunting sound of a lighthouse
blaring it's horn
Will still stir the soul
in the evening or morn

Be it the warmth of the day
or the cold of the night
Or the honking of geese
alone in their flight

The sweet smell of Spring
and the colors of Fall
Will always be here
to be enjoyed by one and all

People will still love
and not be loved in return
The Heart will still beat
The Heart will still yearn

A soul will still feel shattered
with the sound of goodbye
It will twist and turn inside
and still wonder why?

Yet a Heart will still soar
knowing it's loved by a true friend
It will beat a little stronger
again and again

The seasons will still change
like since the beginning of time
And people will still smile and cry
at a word and a rhyme

The sound of a crashing wave
will still ring in one's ears
And babies will always cry
their innocent tears

These things I know to be honest
and forever true
I've written them down
and I share them with you

I also know in my Heart
for all that it's worth,
The brightest star was not in the sky
but right here on Earth

These things I know
and it's so plain to see
That they will go on and on
even without me

But while I exist,
I share all these marvels with you
With all of my loved one's
be it many or few

Life isn't always happy
it can be filled with great pain
But given the choice,
I would do it again.
