Daytona

A long ride with part of the track
on the actual beach.
When the tide was in,
racin' was alittle tricky!

The racin' in Daytona started way back
in the early 1900's.
The track was a 4.1 mile oval,
and today part of the paved dogleg is still Highway A1A.

Today's 2.5 mile tri-oval is the driver's dilema...
home of the restrictor plate and "the big one".
Obviously not a good combination!

Legendary driver Dale Earnhardt
lost his life here
on the last turn of the last lap

Will you look at those ruts...
and now they think the tunnels are tough!!
