BIG NEWS FROM CA !
Becky Murdock

Well, big news on the California Murdock front. I received a call from Tim this morning telling me that as of June 1st, he will be promoted to Sergeant status. This is almost unheard of for someone that has only been in 3 years. This usually doesn't happen until their 4th year etc. I am sooooo very proud of this boy, he is every Mother's dream. I will keep you updated on more info as I get it.

Also, I must tell you about my beautiful daughter. Natalie is going to be on a show on ABC (channel 7 for us), called WIPEOUT. Her segment will air on July 1st [8 PM, 7 Central.] She was so memorable that the producer called her again about another show that is going to air on the Discovery Channel. It is about people that collect things, and the reasons behind this. She told them about my angel collection, and videotaped our house, and sent them to him.

They called the next day for Natalie and me to go do a screen test at the studio in Burbank. The casting agent was even willing to stay late for us so he could meet us. He said that we did a great job, and wanted to submit us immediately to the studio for final approval. So we are waiting to hear the outcome. He said once they have your interview, pics etc. that they call you for other jobs that come up for TV. So we will see what happens. It is definitely an interesting year so far!

FROM THE HEART-LAND, MAY 25
Charles Frost

Dear Ones,

CSI Kirksville: A California-based forensic DNA laboratory announced this week that it will expand its facilities to Kirksville. Blaine Kern, president and CEO of Human Identificaton Technologies, Inc. (HIT), said the company plans to hire a miniumum of 100 people over the next five years in various capacities. He co-founded HIT in Redlands, CA, in 2003. The city's two universities, Truman and A.T. Still (formerly Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine), have pools of talent that favorably influenced the company's decision. Needless to say, the community is delighted with the new investment and job prospects.

"It's an ill wind that blows no good": We hear a lot about the troubles in the housing market. Kay passed along some news on the brighter side. Her granddaughter Heather and Steven Nutter are buying a house in North Andover, MA. Heather's younger sister Brianne Wood and Colin Samuels have their own home in Durham, NH, near Newmarket.

Plan to get underway for Maine tomorrow morning, expecting to arrive Wednesday. Jan will remain in Kirksville breaking in her capable new office assistant, who will coordinate logistics support for the Korean math summer teacher institute.

Lots of love. Charlie and Janice

HUBBARDSTON UPDATE
Teddie Doane

Hi!

I've seen previews for that ["WIPEOUT"] show and am so excited to think I'll actually "know" someone on the show! I've marked my calendar.

Mike's daughter, Mykaela is home for the summer. She's approaching 13 and is so much fun to have around. Mike and Stef work so I get to have her every day! Her little brother, Max (16 months old) goes to stay with his other grandmother while they work. They will have another little brother in September. His name will be Oliver Frances Doane. Mike and Stef have bought a house on Hale Road here in Hubbardston where they plan to stay for a long time.

Ben is getting married on December 27th. Wedding plans are going well. His fiancee, Jaime, just graduated with her Masters' degree in nursing and has a wonderful new job at UMass Hospital in Worcester. We're very proud of her accomplishments.

Billy is in full swing and very busy with the fence business. Mom has moved back in next door at the Hubbardston House Apartments and LOVES her new place. Hope all is well with you. Love, Teddie

SHE'S A CLIMBER
Bevin Hoffman

We are doing well, getting ready for the wedding as it gets closer, only a few more weeks [July 5].

Olivia is getting so big, and trying new things all the time. In fact she just tried to climb out of her crib, and she also climbed up on the kitchen table. She has also started saying NO! She is alot of fun though, and we are very exhausted at the end of the day. We are still working at our jobs, keeping busy with them.

We have heard that you will be coming to the wedding. That is so exciting, and we are looking forward to it and your finally meeting Olivia. We tell her about you guys :) I have sent you some pictures (attached). I do still have more to send slow mail sometime, but I am not very good at that as you can see, so I hope you enjoy these. They were from out engagement session just taken on June 14.

NEW MUSE SUBSCRIBER
Logan Salminen

Hi there, this is Logan Salminen, Randy's son. I happened to come across the Muse while surfing the net and love it! I did not know anything about this site (I'll have to give Grandma Dot a hard time for not filling me in haha). So after looking through every corner of the muse I figured I should add a little something.

After spending over 10 years with my highschool sweetheart Cassandra Dumas, we got married January 9, 2007 in San Juan Puerto Rico. I attached a couple of pictures that hopefully you'll be able to put up on the website.

So now it's official, we're subscribed to the Murdock Muse, and I look forward to reading more about our great artistic, extended family. (Carrying on in our artistic ways I am a musician too. I play pretty much all stringed instruments, percussion, and anything else that can carry a tune).
Thanks a lot!
Sincerely,
Logan and Cassandra Salminen
