Obituary for Stephen Chipman Howlett

Stephen C. Howlett, 76, of 55 Elm Street, Baldwinville, MA died Tuesday, June 25th in Heywood Hospital, Gardner, following an illness, surrounded by his family.

Born January 20, 1937, he was the son of Foster L. and Edna A. (Mawhinnie) Howlett. He was a purchasing agent employed by Simplex Time Recorder of Gardner until retiring several years ago. He was formerly employed at Colonial Press of Clinton. He attended Worcester Boys' Trade High School in Worcester.

Stephen enjoyed using computers, playing golf, watching New England Sports Teams but mostly, enjoyed spending time with his family.

He leaves his wife of 36 years, Therese L. (Stone) Howlett of Baldwinville; 3 sons, Greg Howlett and his wife Carla of Templeton; Timothy H. Howlett and his wife Doris of Crisfield, MD, S. Foster Howlett and his significant other Lisa of Templeton; 4 daughters, Michelle C. Boudreau and her husband Lawrence of Templeton; Denise P. Chapman and her husband William of Gardner; Melissa A. Sargent and her husband Kurt of Winchendon, Stephanie T. Wiseman and her husband Marcus of Gardner.

He also leaves 3 brothers, Thomas Howlett and his wife Marcia of Hubbardston, Douglas Howlett and his wife Carol of Hudson, John Howlett and his wife Kathy of Chichester, NH; 2 sisters, Nancy Murdock and her husband Robert of Ironwood, MI, Pauline Joubert and her husband Stanley of Tilton, NH; 19 grandchildren, Adam, Jayson, Eric, Gregory, Robert, Heidi Beth, Lauren, Vanessa, Elizabeth, Brittany, Timothy Jr., Michael, Nicholas, Ashley, Amanda, Richard, Jamie, Mark, Zachary; 8 greatgrandchildren, Brielle, Desiree, Gianna, Saraiah, Max, Ellie, McKenna, Sophia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Carol P. (Jaillet) Howlett who died in 1974 and a brother, Andrew Howlett. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. in the Boucher Funeral Home, Inc., 110 Nichols St., Gardner. Burial will be in the MA Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon. Calling hours at the funeral home are Friday, June 28th from 8:30 am to 10:00 am in the funeral home.
