Eldora Christel Charlton was born in Putney, Vermont on October 29, 1906. She was the first child of Allen S. and M. Idella Charlton. Allen was a farmer and a preacher. The family moved to Gardner, Mass. and Christel graduated from Gardner High. She married Douglas Murdock, and they had eight children: Robert, Dorothy, Lenore, Eugene, Barbara, Walter, Margery, and Arthur. Christel passed away on November 18, 1996, just a few days after her 90th birthday. |
